ENSCO owns and operates one of the world’s largest and most capable fleets of premium jackup rigs. The jackup fleet consists of 44 rigs, including one ultra-high specification jackup currently under construction with delivery expected early in the second quarter of 2007. ENSCO has added nine ultra-high specification jackup rigs to its fleet since 1999 - five through the acquisition of Chiles Offshore in 2002 and four newly constructed rigs. ENSCO began a fleet enhancement program in the mid-1990s which was substantially completed in the second quarter of 2006. The Company invested over $1.3 billion in upgrading the capability and extending the service life of its existing jackup fleet. This renewal program strengthened ENSCO’s position at the higher-end of the premium jackup market.
