Navy (Marine Option) Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship

Find Schools The Navy (Marine Option) Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship (NROTC) trains college students while they are in school to enter the Navy Reserve or the Marine Corps Reserve as commissioned officers. Option 1—Four Years

Option 2—Two Years


Eligibility

To be eligible for NROTC, you must meet seven requirements:

  1. Citizenship

    You must be a U.S citizen.

  2. Age

    You must be 17 years old by Sept. 1 of your first year of college.

    Or

    If you are applying for the two-year option, be younger than 23 on June 30 of the year that you are eligible for graduation and commissioned status.

  3. Diploma

    Posses a high school diploma or GED by August 1 of the year you will start NROTC.

  4. Physical Fitness

    Meet the Marine Corps physical fitness standards.

  5. No Moral Restrictions

    Have no moral obligations or personal convictions that will keep you from performing all duties required of you in the service.

  6. NROTC College

    Apply for and be admitted to NROTC colleges.

  7. College Entrance Exam

    Achieve qualifying scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT).
