The Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)
The Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) offers education programs directly related to Air Force specialties. Airmen can earn college credit for job training and on-the-job training. They then combine that credit with credit from courses taken at civilian colleges in order to receive associate degrees in applied science from the Community College of the Air Force.

The Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning (AFIADL)
The AFIADL offers career advancing courses. Most of the courses offered by the AFIADL are paper-based correspondence courses. There are more than 440 courses available to aid airmen in completing life-skills type courses. These courses include everything from fundamentals of solid state devices to apprentice carpentry. Air Force personnel may voluntarily enroll in courses such as auto mechanics, plumbing, carpentry or electrical wiring simply for background knowledge.
