Airmen Education and Commissioning Program
Eligibility & Apply
Eligibility
You must meet these 11 requirements to be eligible for the Airmen Education and Commissioning Program:

Citizenship
Must be a United States citizen.

Age
Must be under 30 years of age.

Time-In-Service
Have at least one year Time-In-Service.

Time-On-Station
Have at least one year Time-On-Station.

Recommendation
Be recommended by your immediate commander.

GPA
Maintain the minimum grade point averages for the school you are attending and have completed the required coursework for your major (typically a minimum of 45 semester hours is required).

Admitted
Must be admitted to a school offering Air Force ROTC and the academic major you desire to study. The annual tuition at this school may not exceed $15,000 per year.

AFOQT
Earn Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) scores of 15 or more on the Verbal scale and 10 or more on the Quantitative scale.

Physical Fitness Test
Pass the Air Force ROTC Physical Fitness Test.

Commissioning Requirements
Meet all the requirements for commissioning.

Overseas Retain Ability
Meet the requirement for overseas retain ability.
Apply
Applications are normally due in January. The process consists of two parts:

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Evaluation
The evaluation will determine if you meet the specific academic requirements that the Air Force is looking for.

The Selection Board
The board will then meet in April to determine if you should be accepted into the program. It has a number of different criteria for evaluating qualifications. Board members will look at all documentation in your application package, commander recommendations, your on duty performance record, and your academic records.
