Y’all can relax a bit. This week’s column isn’t all political rants. There’s a good amount on NEWS OF THE STRANGE that caught my attention this week. So stand by for some outrage and some outrageous.

I know folks are wonderin’ about my take on the debate last Friday. I could only watch 30 minutes worth before changing the channel. Obama is STILL trying to say that McCain is one and the same with Bush, and that every policy of the past 8 years is a failure. I’ll agree on some of them…the ones that Bush went liberal on! Of course, Obama also had a line saying McCain’s tax policy does nothing for the bottom 100 million people, which McCain failed to return fire on. Earth to Obama: the Bush tax cuts took that 100 million off of the federal income tax rolls all together! You can’t give a tax break to someone who doesn’t pay taxes!

Joe Biden wants less energy in the US, and clean coal only in China. How does he plan to give us “energy independence” if his party opposes every possible form of energy in the US? Clean coal only for China

Speaking of no energy for America, Senate majority Leader Reid tried to play politics with the bailout bill (surprise, surprise). He attempted to sneak in a renewal of the ban on oil shale development. What does that have to do with the financial crisis? Why does his party hate the thought of American energy independence? When you call someone a fat pig, just remember that fat pigs (real ones…not the ones at your family reunion) can be terrifying to some people. HAILP!

Upchuck Schumer is at it again. He says that the Bush-McCain anti-regulation forces are to blame for the current economic mess. Sorry, Senator Gun Grabber, but YOU voted in 1999 to repeal the Glass-Steagall Act, which kept commercial and investment banking separated. Busted Chuckie! A guy admits that he’s not a really observant Jew, but he wants to keep his beard because of religious reasons. The problem is that he’s a firefighter, and beards prevent oxygen masks and other breathing apparatus from making a proper seal. That’s one of the main reasons for the no beard policy in the Navy, since we are all firefighters on the ship and might have to don gas masks, oxygen generators, or respirators in our work days. How do the candidates match up with The Crawfish?

There are a couple of websites that have “candidate calculators” that allow the user to input their opinion on a number of issues, and then see how the candidates match up with their beliefs.

The Crawfish has taken the tests and will now show how he matches up with them. A word of caution on the questions, though. Some issues require the user to click on the link to really understand how to vote on them, such as “Replace US troops with the UN in Iraq”. I initially put Strongly Oppose, until I looked at what each answer stood for, and had to change to Neutral.

The first site is On The Issues.Org. I am not going to bother with useless candidates such as Nader, McKinney, LaRiva, and Moore. My next post will be the “Candidate Calculator” at www.vajoe.com, where The Crawfish is a Moderator and weekly columnist.

Overall, I am listed as a Hard-Core Conservative (surprise, surprise). Her Majesty’s spokesmetrosexual said, “The only thing this Republican sideshow accomplished was to show the lengths to which the Conference will go to demonstrate their loyalty to Big Oil,” Big Oil? Methinks the GOP is on the side of THE PEOPLE!

It also pays them a monthly stipend, health care, child care, and college scholarship money. It is also just another radical leftist organization run in accordance with the directives of Saul “The Red” Alinsky. It trains these young Americans in radical protest tactics. The Obamas discourage work in the private sector. “Don’t go into corporate America,” Michelle has exhorted youth. “Work for the community. Be social workers.” Shun the “money culture,” Barack added. “Individual salvation depends on collective salvation.” Slick Willie’s AmeriCorps (in other words, we the taxpayers) already pays half of this organization’s budget. The Messiah wants to have the gummint pay ALL of it and expand it into a $500 BILLION national program. Here’s the really dangerous quote…”We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded (as the military)”- Barack Obama.

The Marxists convention in Denver included a lot of rhetoric that harkens back to Ronaldus Maximus and iron Lady Maggie Thatcher, but what they are actually proposing is turning America into what England was before Lady Thatcher took charge. First he claimed it for the job of running his own campaign, until it was pointed out that running the campaign is the job of the highly paid campaign manager. Well, the Chicago Sun-Times has uncovered a project that The One was actually in charge of, and how it completely fizzled after spending over $100,000 of Illinois taxpayer money.

MSNBC noticed that they were getting absolutely slammed for the obviousness of their extreme left wing coverage of politics, especially during the conventions. They also noted that their ratings royally sucked. As a result, they fired Chris “Obama sends a tingle down my leg” Matthews and Keith “I also suck as a sportscaster” Olbermann from their political coverage. What was their first clue that their coverage was simply a free commercial for the Obama Campaign?

Okay, I slacked off last week, but I ain’t doin’ that this time. Stand the heck by. Some folks are about to receive the Wrath of the Crawfish.

Don Fowler, former CHAIRMAN of the DNC, is a pig of the first order. He was caught on audio and video while on a flight from the DNC convention in Denver to Charlotte. He was having a conversation with Representative John Spratt (D-SC). He finds it funny that Hurricane Gustav is hitting N’awlins on the first day of the GOP convention. He says it shows “God is on our side.” Of course, if the tables had been reversed and this was a Republican saying this trash, it would be front page above the fold news for a month and would lead every mainstream media news broadcast for at least 4 days. Notice that Spratt does nothing but chuckle, so he’s just as much a pig.

Fowler later did apologize, but blamed the whole incident on a “right-wing nutcase” who posted his comments on the internet. Sorry, jerk, but whoever posted that video did the right thing in exposing you for the pig that you are, no matter what his political affiliation.

Of course, the mainstream media piles on with Keith Olbermann’s show on MSNBC giving Michael Mooreon the opportunity to spout “Gustav is proof that there is a God in Heaven!”

He detailed Obama’s relationship with Ayres, which is all documented facts. The Obama Campaign found out about the show and tried to get WGN to not allow Kurtz on the air. When that failed, they got a hold of many of their minions in the Chicago area to flood WGN’s switchboard, so the show couldn’t get any really interested callers. The campaign told it’s slaves that, “WGN Radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist fears… pushing lies, distortions and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.”

There was even a television ad on the Ayres subject. The Dim-ocrats tried to pressure stations into not showing it, even threatening to sic the Justice Department on them. The ad, however, is completely factual, so the Obamites have nothing to stand on. Here it is:

Now for some of the REAL story on Hurricane Gustav. Fox News did a phone interview with former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco. Anchor Julie Banderas (WOW!) asked what was so different this time since the preparations were going so much better than for Katrina. What mistakes had Blanco and Nagin made back then. Blanco immediately said that the problems during Katrina were all because the federal government didn’t do anything for them. Banderas quickly shot back with the fact that it is the state and local government’s responsibility, not the feds (BANG!). Some of the differences:
Blanco and Nagin refused to obey state laws and order mandatory evacuations, even when Bush called them and requested that they order them. Jindal made it happen. No parking lot of flooded out school busses. (The Crawfish knows those evacuations are Louisiana state law, since Mrs. Crawfish grew up in the N’awlins area and was mandatorily evac’d multiple times…her Dad was a N’awlins cop after serving 3 tours in Vietnam with the USMC)
Blanco did not pre-position the National Guard. Jindal put 1500 of ‘em in N’awlins along with urban search and rescue teams.
Blanco refused to allow the National Guard troops from neighboring states to enter Louisiana and have their people and equipment ready. Jindal coordinated efforts with the governors of Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, so relief personnel and equipment was staged and ready no matter where the storm hit.
Blanco whined that Bush didn’t do anything. Jindal led the people of his state.
Blano never asked Bush to use “article 32” powers to secure federal funding before the storm hit. Jindal sought and received it.
We’ll see how the recovery goes.

Peanutboy didn’t say anything about John Kerry four years ago reminding people at every turn that he got a Purple Heart for scratching himself in Vietnam. Meanwhile, back in reality… The Crawfish still isn’t too happy with the nomination of Juan McLame for the GOP, but his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is a fantastic one. Of course, the Obama-Biden campaign immediately screwed up by saying she is in the pocket of big-oil and the special interests, when she has fought big-oil and special interests and WON! Then they put feet in mouth by saying she was JUST the mayor of a small town. That’s a good way to p-off lots of small town America. As a Mayor and then Governor, she’s got much more EXECUTIVE experience than Obama and Biden combined. She’s also run a family business, which none of the others have done.

In 2012, the GOP will have five GREAT potential Presidents. Imagine a GOP primary debate (if McLame only serves one term) with the candidates being Palin, Jindal, JC Watts, Michael Steele, and Duncan Hunter. All five would be great choices and only one of the bunch is a white male. The Dim-ocrats wouldn’t know what to do!

The Crawfish apologizes to his readers. He had a nice column all prepped for today, but never e-mailed it to his home computer.

I’m on leave this week. I’ve actually been spending some time with the family, since the wife had a few days off that coincided with my time off. You’ve probably notced a lack of comments from me in the forums. I’m okay, I swear. I just haven’t been online or watching the political shows much. I didn’t even pay much attention to the Olympics for the last 5 days of it. The wife goes back to work tomorrow, so I’ll start getting online a bit more. I’ll have a good column ready for next Tuesday, the last day of my leave and the first day of school for the kids.

Until then, I’ll just say that Obama’s selection of Biden was a great one…for McCain’s supporters. There is puh-lenty of ammo to use now. He has praised McCain repeatedly over the past couple of years and been not-so-complimentary about Obama.

I hear Obama’s campaign is miffed and is trying to get the Justice Department to block an advertisement that some conservatives are running on television stations across the country. I haven’t seen it but I hear it makes all sorts of connections between unrepentent terrorist William Ayres and The Messiah. From the squeeling of those stuck pigs, the ad must be mostly true.

Daughter #2 is now officially dangerous. We got our 2nd grader a lacrosse stick yesterday. Yes, a real one so she can play with a couple of middle school boys in the common area of our townhouses.

That’s what Obama and his minions believe. Yesterday, they trotted Virginia Governor Tim Kaine out in front of the cameras to say this:
“The Senator’s goal was to be tough and smart,” Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine said of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, “and so when the action (in Georgia) happened on Thursday, he immediately called for a ceasefire, condemned the unwarranted use of force by Russia. It was a bad crisis for the world. It required tough words, but also a smart approach to call on the international community to step in — and I’m very, very happy that the senator’s request for a ceasefire has been complied with by President Medvedev.”

a) He had no goal of being tough and smart. His first actions were to continue his vacation and say that the UN should handle the situation.
b) Obama never made a serious call for a ceasefire, and the one that Putin’s puppet agreed to (with fingers crossed behind his back) was brokered by French President Sarkozy. (Imagine that…the Soviets lied to the French about their military intentions and the French believed them)

c) Kaine was obviously sent out there as part of his audition to be The Messiah’s Vice President. If he is able to get the mainstream media to report more Messiahlies and the American people to believe this tripe, then he might be worthy to sit at Obama’s right hand.
d) The ceasefire agreement signatures weren’t even dry before the Soviets reneged on them.

Meanwhile, as reported on Thursday, 8-14-08, the Soviets believe that the ceasefire meant that the Georgians would stop fighting, but they were free to continue. For those who actually believe that Georgia started it without it being a set-up, notice that the Soviets are saying that Georgia’s borders from before this Soviet invasion are null and void. Looks like Obama’s ceasefire claims were a bit premature, as was George W Bush’s claim that Putin is a good guy.
USSR’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov declared Thursday that the world “can forget about” Georgia’s territorial integrity, and American and Georgian officials said the Sovs appeared to be targeting military infrastructure — including radars and patrol boats at a Black Sea naval base and oil hub.

The White House responded, but then again, what can we really do about it? “Our position on Georgia’s territorial integrity is not going to change no matter what anybody says,” White House press secretary Dana Perino said Thursday. “And so I would consider that to be bluster from the foreign minister of Russia. We will ignore it.”

This has the possibility of getting really bad for Georgia. The US isn’t in any position to really do anything to prevent a full takeover, or partial takeover, by the Soviets. The Europeans are not going to do anything, because they are fully dependent upon the Soviets for oil and natural gas. The Europeans don’t want to freeze to death this winter.

Oh, and before anybody complains about the name of the country doing the invading here, yes, The Swamp’s official term for that nation has reverted to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Now about the set-up. The seperatists in South Ossetia and Abkhazia were supported, funded, and armed by the Soviets. Most of them have Russian passports, which is a violation of international law as they are legally citizens of Georgia. Technically, those passports are not valid. The Georgians were responding to activity by the seperatists, and when they acted, the Soviets were able to hit back with 5 divisions, plus naval and air assets, within a few hours. That doesn’t just happen. That kind of military action takes planning and time to put the action-ready units in position. Obviously, this was pre-planned.

Will the mainstream media report this? Since you haven’t heard about this from anybody but The Crawfish, that answer would be “NO!”
